Youcef’s story is inspirational and shows incredible resilience. He talks about his journey and the hurdles that he overcame to achieve his Olympic dream. His journey starts in a small village in Algeria with one TV channel and a school 6kms from home at the bottom of a mountain. At the age of 18 something went terribly wrong and Youcef Abdi had 24 hours to escape an Algerian military training camp in the desert - One day to make up his mind about where to spend the rest of his life, never giving up on his Olympic dream.
